It supports projects that use the transformative power of professional development and training to generate systemic change within museums of all types and sizes. IMLS recognizes the many challenges facing individual museums and the need to invest resources, time, and energy towards nurturing the professional development of staff and strengthening museum operations.

Allowable Use of funds: Allowable costs include personnel, materials and equipment, participant support costs, program evaluation, staff and volunteer training, overhead, and other program-related costs. Funds for general operating, acquisition, advertising, renovation, social activities, and research projects are among unallowable costs.
